Lead Direct Care Staff for Adult Residential Facility

Developmental Services Continuum, Inc. is a non-profit agency who provides support and services to adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work under Administrator and assist administrator as needed.
  • Understand client rights to ensure an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all client in a safe, secure environment.
  • Attend all in-service training and monthly house meetings.
  • Administer client medications as outlined by Agency protocol.
  • Accompany client to medical appointments, ensure health care plans are in place and documentation is electronically recorded on Therap.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks such as laundry, bed-making, meal preparation, and cooking.
  • Assist clients with ADL's.
  • Maintain an Agency cell phone during scheduled shift, one to two times per week.
  • Supervision and training assistance of DSP's.
  • Job duties are not all-inclusive, other duties may be assigned as needed.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of Title 17, Title 22 regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to see, talk, hear, walk, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 50lbs or less repeatedly during the shift.
  • Ability to lawfully and safely drive an Agency vehicle.
  • Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Twenty-four months of experience providing direct services to persons with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

Certifications:

  • CPR and First Aid card
  • Direct Support Professional I (required)
  • Direct Support Professional II (required)
  • 40-hour Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) Completion Certificate (preferred)

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • Work with individuals who may be aggressive towards themselves or others. Implementation of hands-on-behavioral management strategies, as trained, may be needed daily.
  • Work involves significant amount of movement including the operation of an agency vehicle (in town and freeway driving) and movement of the consumers to and from the vehicle to the office, day programs, activities, work programs, clinics and community agencies.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible or varied schedule, overtime, weekends and holiday hours as necessary to meet operational and resident needs.

Schedule: full time 2:00pm-10:00pm or 2:30pm-10:30pm must be available to work weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
