We are looking to add a responsible, motivated Lead Dog Walker to fill our West Iowa City dog walking route starting in March Our full time Lead Dog Walkers get priority hours, consistent routes, and first consideration for time off and scheduling requests. All candidates will be required to have a recurring evening and weekend schedule as well as holidays (these "off hours" have higher pay). Our ideal candidate is comfortable working alone, highly communicative when issues arise, and extremely dependable. A good attitude and sense of humor along with a genuine calling to work with animals are a MUST.
Responsibilities:
- Walk 8-12 dogs per day in all weather, driving between client homes
- Follow detailed, custom instructions for caring for each pet and home
- Cleaning occasional pet messes and litterboxes
- Effectively communicating details of each walk to the client, and communicating questions as they arise to management.
- Performing each visit at a high level of attention
- Handling and feeding cats, small animals, reptiles, and birds
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals professionally, in volunteer work, or otherwise demonstrable affinity for pet care
- Previous leadership roles in a professional or club setting preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- High level of attention to detail and self-motivation, as illustrated by previous work experience
- Capacity for chaotic, ever-changing work circumstances - animals (and clients) can be unpredictable!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
