Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical installation teams on construction sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
- Read and interpret complex electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to guide installation processes
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain low voltage and high voltage electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as frame carpentry or handyman teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Mentor junior electricians by providing guidance on technical tasks like schematic reading, circuit wiring, and troubleshooting techniques involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems during renovation projects or new construction to identify issues early and implement effective solutions
Requirements
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong background in construction site environments
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems including low voltage, high voltage, NEC standards, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation
- Skilled in using hand tools like screwdrivers, pliers; power tools such as drills; testing equipment including ohmmeters; and power saws for framing carpentry tasks
- Hands-on experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation projects
- Ability to read technical schematics accurately and translate them into practical installations or repairs
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising electrical crews on busy construction sites
- Strong understanding of renovation processes involving electrical upgrades or rewiring projects
- Valid electrician’s license or certification as required by local jurisdiction; additional certifications in low voltage or high voltage work are a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with meticulous attention to detail in troubleshooting complex electrical issues
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks such as climbing ladders or scaffolding for high-voltage installations
