Lead Electrician

Norton Electric is looking for another lead guy, must be able to change panels, build a service, troubleshooting, rough in/finish, wire additions, etc. must be able to work unsupervised, must be drug free, a take home vehicle comes with this position, a license is not required but a bonus, experience is a must! Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise electrical installation teams on construction sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
• Read and interpret complex electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to guide installation processes
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain low voltage and high voltage electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment
• Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as frame carpentry or handyman teams to ensure seamless project execution
• Mentor junior electricians by providing guidance on technical tasks like schematic reading, circuit wiring, and troubleshooting techniques involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Conduct inspections of electrical systems during renovation projects or new construction to identify issues early and implement effective solutions

Requirements

• Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong background in construction site environments
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems including low voltage, high voltage, NEC standards, schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation
• Skilled in using hand tools like screwdrivers, pliers; power tools such as drills; testing equipment including ohmmeters; and power saws for framing carpentry tasks
• Hands-on experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation projects
• Ability to read technical schematics accurately and translate them into practical installations or repairs
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising electrical crews on busy construction sites
• Strong understanding of renovation processes involving electrical upgrades or rewiring projects
• Valid electrician’s license or certification as required by local jurisdiction; additional certifications in low voltage or high voltage work are a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with meticulous attention to detail in troubleshooting complex electrical issues
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks such as climbing ladders or scaffolding for high-voltage installations
