Lead Estimator & Negotiator

Position Overview

Elevated Builds is seeking a high-level Lead Estimator / Negotiator to take ownership of the full claims process—from initial estimate to final settlement and customer communication.

This role is responsible for writing accurate Xactimate estimates, negotiating directly with insurance adjusters, and maximizing claim value while maintaining strong relationships with both carriers and homeowners.

You will also act as the primary point of contact for the customer, ensuring clear communication, proper expectations, and a smooth reconstruction process from start to finish.

This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced, growth-oriented company. We are looking for someone with an ownership mindset who takes full responsibility for outcomes—not just tasks.

Core Responsibilities:

Estimating & Scope Development

  • Write detailed, accurate Xactimate estimates for residential reconstruction projects
  • Review mitigation scopes and build full reconstruction estimates
  • Identify missing line items and opportunities to ensure full claim coverage

Insurance Negotiation

  • Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters to maximize claim approvals and margins
  • Supplement claims effectively with proper documentation, photos, and justification
  • Push back on under-scoped or underpaid claims with confidence and professionalism
  • Manage claims from initial submission through final approval and payment

Customer Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners throughout the reconstruction process
  • Set expectations clearly regarding scope, timeline, and insurance process
  • Provide updates and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Ensure a 5-star experience on every project

Project Coordination

  • Work closely with Project Managers and contractors to:
  • Align scope with field execution
  • Ensure projects stay on schedule
  • Maintain profitability and budget control
  • Communicate scope changes and approvals quickly to keep jobs moving

Financial Oversight

  • Assist in tracking claim progress and insurance payments
  • Ensure timely collection of funds based on job milestones
  • Protect margins by ensuring all approved work is captured and billed

Requirements

  • Prior experience as an insurance adjuster (required)
  • Strong proficiency in Xactimate (writing and supplementing)
  • Proven ability to negotiate claims with carriers
  • Deep understanding of residential construction and restoration scope
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in reconstruction / restoration estimating
  • Familiarity with mitigation-to-rebuild workflows
  • Experience working with contractors and project managers
  • Adjuster certifications or licensing

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 (based on experience)
  • Performance bonuses per claim, tied to:
  • Claim profitability
  • Successful supplements
  • Speed of claim resolution
  • Opportunity for significant upside based on performance

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
