Lead Estimator (Underground Utilities Min 5 Yrs. Experience)

About Us

Kingsman Development is a growing civil construction company specializing in demolition, earthwork, utilities, concrete, and paving. We’re seeking a driven Lead Estimator to spearhead our estimating department, helping us secure new projects and strengthen our competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including demolition, grading, utilities, concrete, and paving.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and proposals to determine scope and requirements.
• Develop and maintain cost databases, production rates, and unit pricing.
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to validate estimates and identify cost risks.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accurate scope coverage and competitive pricing.
• Prepare bid proposals and prequalification packages for general contractors and developers.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations.
• Mentor junior estimators and assist in building a scalable estimating process for the company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in civil construction (earthwork, utilities, site development strongly preferred).
• Proven track record preparing winning bids for public and private projects.
• Strong understanding of production rates, cost coding, and construction means/methods.
• Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid and HCSS Plans.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (but equivalent experience accepted).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
