Position Summary

The Lead Residential Garbage Truck Driver operates heavy-duty rear-end load trucks with lift attachments based on route and service needs. This role is responsible for safely collecting residential household waste and recyclable materials and transporting materials to designated disposal facilities once load capacity is reached.

This position requires excellent driving skills, strong situational awareness, and the ability to maneuver safely through residential neighborhoods, tight spaces, and congested areas. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and eager to contribute to the company’s growth and team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty rear-load garbage trucks with lift attachments
• Safely collect residential household waste and recyclable materials
• Transport collected materials to disposal facilities when trucks reach capacity
• Safely navigate high-traffic and congested residential roadways
• Maneuver through driveways, alleyways, parking lots, and tight spaces
• Perform skilled backing and precision vehicle positioning
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Maintain clean and safe equipment
• Adhere to all DOT, state, and company safety regulations
• Provide courteous and professional service to residential customers
• Assist in training new drivers and team members
• Support leadership in building and expanding the residential division
• Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment issues promptly

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) (Class B minimum)
• Clean driving record
• Experience operating rear-load or similar heavy-duty trucks preferred
• Highly skilled in backing and maneuvering in tight spaces
• Ability to safely operate vehicles in residential environments
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and defensive driving practices
• Ability to work early mornings and in varying weather conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs
• Strong communication skills
• Leadership mindset with the ability to help train and mentor new employees

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs
• Frequent entering and exiting of the truck
• Extended periods of driving
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50 per week
