Lead Generation/Sales Specialist
The primary responsibilities of this position require: 1) the candidate to identify and research businesses within the Tri-State Better Business Bureau’s 18-county service area, helping to provide free BBB Business Profiles on BBB.org and identifying qualified candidates who may apply for BBB Accreditation and, 2) assist with providing such information to the BBB’s Accreditation and Retention staff, and well as assist with contacting such businesses and candidates. This staff member will also reach out to current accredited businesses to assist with update needs.

Expanded details on responsibilities include:
· Following community social media platforms and subscribing to local community/business related newsletters. Learn more about businesses and business events within our service area, helping to expand BBB’s database, community information and knowledge of our area.
· Review and research other sources of business data.
· Research/gather information to create BBB Business Profiles for newly identified businesses. Record and collaborate with BBB staff on appropriate next steps for seamless transitions or engagement with information gathered.
· Contact appropriate businesses for missing information to help provide free BBB Business Profiles and nurture potential leads.
· Enter information located or provided by businesses into the BBB’s computer database.
· Make monthly update calls and send emails to select accredited businesses in a timely manner. Follow up on communications when appropriate to help ensure accuracy on BBB.org and within business files.
· Assist accredited businesses with excellent customer service, uploading pictures, logos, videos and customized text, helping to expand their visibility.
· Share on BBB business services and additional products BBB provides.
· Reach out to potential candidates by phone to share about BBB Accreditation and its benefits, offering an application, if preliminary qualifications are met.
· Positively communicate the value of becoming an accredited business.
· Assist with answering phone calls from both businesses and consumers, providing business profile information, complaint filing information, and contacts for other entities, when appropriate to assist with needs.
· Other general office tasks or assistance as needed.
Qualifications:
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Internet/social media research skills, with attention to detail.
· A strong team-player mentality and ability to work with multiple departments.
· Ability to multi-task and handle sensitive information and documents with confidentiality.
· Goal-oriented with an ability to meet deadlines.
· Customer service, complaint handling, and other work experience considered.
· 2+ years of sales experience preferred.
