Drinking Buddies is a 2oz recovery shot, scientifically engineered to skip the consequences. Drink, have fun, take a DB’s shot before bed, wake up happy. No hangxiety, no 4am wake-ups, No regrets.

We're the team behind Looner, the #1 hemp THC soda in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and we’re building a new business line (note - there's no THC in this one). We just started selling online, and we're about to hit retailers across the Midwest. We’re growing fast, and we need someone to make the product look as good as it feels.

THE JOB

We need a design lead. You'll touch every place a customer sees Drinking Buddies: the website, the ads (static & video), the packaging, the retail and trade marketing, the brand identity itself — and anywhere else we haven't thought of yet. If a customer can see it, you probably had your hand in it.

This is a doer job. You will live in Figma (or Illustrator). You will make things, not manage the people who make things — everybody here is a doer, we don't really have managers. We care about the work, not the title, so this is wide open in terms of experience: a sharp staff designer hungry to own a brand, all the way up to a creative director who actually still loves mashing pixels.

Day to day you are going to create stuff, and work closely with people to bring it to life - front-end developers, printers, packaging companies here and abroad, creators and more.

YOU'RE PROBABLY A FIT IF YOU

- Have a portfolio that makes us laugh, shudder, or both

- High-volume shooter - move fast, make instead of debate

- Live in Figma and other design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

- Are comfortable producing across many mediums - packaging (dielines!), digital, print, brand and anything else that might come your way

- Like drinking, laughing, jokes - basically the beer ads we grew up on, from Spuds MacKenzie, to Real Men of Genius, to I Love You Man. And, and…Twins.

- Experience in alcohol, tobacco, beverages or relevant CPG a plus

YOU'RE DEFINITELY NOT A FIT IF YOU

- Are on the wagon (no problem, but drinking is pretty central to the business)

- Are easily offended

- Prefer a lot of structure and process to do your best work

- Require a lot of support to get things done

LOGISTICS

We'd love you in the office in Minneapolis — this business is better built in a room together — but the right person can work remote. Compensation is competitive, including benefits. Plus the obvious: free Buddies, unlimited bar tabs for “product research”, the chance to make something great.
