Lead Graphic Designer

Reports to: VP of Marketing

Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Salary: $75k - $80k

Role Summary

The Lead Graphic Designer is the creative heartbeat of Flagship’s visual world. This role leads our in-house design team with a deep passion for brand, a commitment to innovation, and a constant drive to push boundaries. They mentor a talented team of designers and visual storytellers, championing collaboration, growth, and a shared love for great design.

The Lead Designer brings fresh perspective and bold thinking to everything they touch, from high-impact campaigns to the everyday moments that shape the guest experience. This role owns the creative request board, keeps project flow moving with clarity, and works cross-functionally to ensure every visual feels thoughtful, elevated, and uniquely Flagship. They’re not afraid to take risks, try something unexpected, and raise the bar on what great design can look like in hospitality.

Core Responsibilities

Brand Leadership & Visual Direction

· Leads design for concepting and creative execution for all new Flagship restaurant brands

· Guides visual identity development including logos, color palettes, typography, tone, and collateral

· Maintains consistency across brands while evolving designs based on audience, market, and business needs

· Oversees all brand enhancement projects, from seasonal campaigns to long-term refreshes

· Serves as the final design eye on high-priority projects and branded content

Team Leadership & Mentorship

· Mentors and coach the Creative Operations Designer and Integrated Media Designer

· Provides clear feedback, creative direction, and growth-focused development

· Empowers team members to take ownership of their work and expand their creative skill sets

· Fosters a studio culture of curiosity, excellence, and continuous learning

Project Oversight & Delegation

· Manages the Creative Request Board, assigning projects based on skillset, timelines, and capacity

· Reviews and prioritize incoming requests from the marketing, operations, and culinary teams

· Maintains workflow clarity, protects creative time, and ensures deadlines are met

· Provides design guidance and support on collateral, menus, campaign materials, digital assets, and in-restaurant signage

Menu Program & Operational Design (Oversight)

· Supports and guide the Creative Operations Designer in menu reconfiguration, material sourcing, and production execution

· Reviews final menu layouts, signage, and operational materials to ensure brand alignment and readability

· Ensures restaurant-level tools and resources reflect Flagship’s standard of polished, purposeful design

Creative Collaboration & Content Innovation

· Collaborates with the Integrated Media Designer on visual storytelling through photography and short-form video

· Provides design direction for campaign shoots, social media content, and internal branding initiatives

· Partners with marketing leads to brainstorm visual strategy for seasonal promotions, LTOs, and openings

Innovation & Trendspotting

· Stays ahead of design trends in hospitality, branding, and marketing

· Brings fresh, elevated ideas to the table that push our creative standards forward

· Regularly audits our visual presence across channels and recommend areas of improvement or evolution

· Infuses each project with thoughtful, forward-thinking creativity that sets Flagship apart
