Lead Grounds Maintenance Laborer

Location: West Point Lake Project, West Point, GA

EAST O&M LLC is currently seeking Grounds Maintenance Laborer(s) for the Operations and Maintenance of Government Owned Facilities and Equipment at West Point Lake Project.

This position is responsible for performing and overseeing the complete grounds maintenance functions and tasks within a team environment. In addition, this position will provide training as needed; oversee the maintenance of grounds equipment and other assigned areas to ensure a safe, clean and attractive environment; inspect grounds and landscaped areas to ensure completion of tasks by grounds maintenance team.

11210 LEAD LABORER, GROUNDS MAINTENANCE:

The LEAD, Grounds Maintenance worker maintains grounds of industrial, commercial or public property such as buildings, camp and picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses, and athletic fields, and repairs structures and equipment, performing one or more of the following tasks: cut grass, using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.), application of herbicide/ pesticide products, trim hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds, and wells, using hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools, prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools, sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide. Job duties also include the following: planting grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs, watering lawn and shrubs during dry periods, using hose or activating sprinkler system, picks up and burns or carts away leaves, paper or other litter; removing snow from walks, driveways, roads, or parking lots, using shovel and snow blower, spreads salt on walkways and other areas, repairing and painting fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings.

Job Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience performing complete grounds maintenance services and two years of supervising a grounds maintenance crew.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening & physical

Must comply with company policies, OSHA, NEC, and base safety

Required to safely lift up to 75 pounds, and climb ladders

Required to follow oral and written directions in English

Must possess a valid state's driver's license with at least a CDL class B

Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook or similar programs is helpful

COMPENSATION: We offer a competitive salary and benefits. Hourly wage will be $18.75 plus cash H&W of $4.93.
