Lead Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to spearhead our HVAC service team. In this vital role, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex HVAC systems across diverse property types. Your expertise will ensure optimal indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and system reliability. As a leader, you will mentor junior technicians, coordinate field operations, and uphold safety standards. Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of HVAC technicians, providing technical guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Oversee the installation of new HVAC equipment following schematics and design specifications, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, appliances, and related mechanical components to maximize lifespan and efficiency.
  • Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
  • Conduct field service operations including equipment repair, welding, boiler maintenance, and property upkeep tasks.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system performance reports for accountability and future reference.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a service technician with strong mechanical knowledge in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with previous experience supervising or leading a team of technicians.
  • Extensive construction knowledge related to HVAC installation and property maintenance projects.
  • Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans accurately.
  • Hands-on experience with plumbing systems, refrigeration units—including ammonia refrigeration—and appliance repair.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting; experience with equipment repair including boilers and other mechanical systems.
  • Skilled in welding techniques necessary for system repairs; familiarity with field service operations across various property types.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> driver vehicles preferred.
  • Certifications or training in HVAC/R systems; familiarity with mechanical codes and safety protocols is essential.

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
