Position Summary:
The Lead Host plays a key role in creating a seamless guest experience by overseeing the flow of service both inside and outside the venue. This position acts as a bridge between the host team and the rest of the front-of-house staff, ensuring efficient seating, accurate wait times, and strong communication across the team. The Lead Host will take ownership of OpenTable management and provide ongoing support and leadership to the host team.
Schedule:
Ideally Wednesday- Sunday (flexible) no Monday or Tuesdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage guest flow between indoor and outdoor seating areas
- Monitor waitlists and reservations to ensure accurate timing and optimal table turns
- Own and manage OpenTable, including reservations, table assignments, and guest notes
- Support, train, and guide host team members during service
- Act as a point of contact for hosts, servers, and management to maintain smooth operations
- Assist with guest relations, including handling special requests and resolving minor concerns
- Maintain a strong presence on the floor, proactively adjusting seating plans as needed
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of host stands and entry areas
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to align pacing
Qualifications:
- Previous hosting or front-of-house experience required; leadership experience preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Professional, friendly, and guest-focused demeanor
- Ability to stay calm and adaptable under pressure
