Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) service activities across multiple sites, ensuring timely and efficient completion of repairs and installations.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; develop effective repair strategies for equipment including boilers, refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and appliances.
- Oversee the installation of HVAC systems with attention to HVAC design specifications and building codes; collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, boilers, ammonia refrigeration units, and other mechanical components to prevent failures and extend equipment lifespan.
- Conduct field service operations involving appliance repair, equipment troubleshooting, welding repairs, and mechanical adjustments in accordance with safety standards.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Supervise safety protocols during all maintenance activities; ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and environmental standards related to refrigerants such as ammonia.
- Mentor and guide junior technicians; provide technical training on HVAC/R systems, schematics interpretation, welding techniques, and equipment repair procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, parts used, inspections performed, and system modifications for reporting purposes.
- Assist in the procurement of parts and tools necessary for ongoing maintenance projects; manage inventory levels effectively.
- Support property maintenance initiatives by ensuring HVAC systems operate efficiently to optimize occupant comfort and safety.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in HVAC/R systems including refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing, boilers, and appliance repair.
- Extensive knowledge of construction processes related to HVAC system installation and building integration.
- Experience working as a service technician with field service operations; capable of troubleshooting complex mechanical issues on-site.
- Proficiency reading schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints; familiarity with HVAC design principles is highly desirable.
- Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing; capable of performing equipment repair using welding techniques when necessary.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems; understanding of environmental regulations concerning refrigerants is preferred.
- Ability to operate a <PERSON> driver license or equivalent for transportation between job sites.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience working with boilers and other large-scale heating systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high safety standards. Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
