Earn up to 50% of Labor Gross Profit
Earn up to 10% of Parts Gross Profit
No cap on earnings
High performers have the potential to earn $80,000–$150,000+ annually
This position is designed for technicians who want to be rewarded based on performance and production rather than being limited by a traditional hourly pay structure.
During your ramp-up period, you are guaranteed earnings equivalent to $25 per hour worked. As your production grows, commission-based compensation becomes the primary source of income.

Full Job Description
Ridgell Oil Company is seeking an experienced HVAC and Oil Burner Technician to help grow and lead our service division.
We are looking for a motivated, self-driven professional who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and wants the opportunity to directly impact their earnings through performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician looking for greater earning potential and long-term growth within an established company serving Southern Maryland since 1981.

Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and service oil-fired heating equipment
Service and repair furnaces, boilers, burners, heat pumps, and air conditioning systems
Perform annual maintenance, tune-ups, and preventative maintenance
Respond to no-heat and emergency service calls
Clearly explain repair recommendations and options to customers
Complete service documentation accurately and professionally
Maintain a clean and professional company vehicle
Maintain a professional appearance and positive customer interactions
Assist in growing the HVAC and service division
Participate in an on-call rotation as needed

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of HVAC and/or oil burner service experience
Experience servicing oil burners, furnaces, and boilers required
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Valid driver's license
Clean driving record
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing
Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds
Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, basements, and outdoor weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications
EPA Certification
NATE Certification
Experience with Beckett, Carlin, and Riello burners
Experience with heat pumps and ductless mini-split systems
