Lead HVAC Service Tech

Job Overview
The Lead HVAC Service Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role includes supervising junior technicians, ensuring quality standards, troubleshooting complex issues, and delivering exceptional customer service. The Lead Technician will act as a technical expert and mentor within the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate HVAC service projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems up to 25 tons, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and system inspections to ensure optimal performance.
• Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inventory documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and company safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear explanations of issues and solutions.
• Assist in scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization for service calls.

Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of HVAC service experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying environments (indoor/outdoor, heights, confined spaces).
• Comfortable with extended periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
