Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Infant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will serve as a key leader in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for infants. Your expertise will guide classroom activities, develop age-appropriate curriculum, and support the growth and development of our youngest learners. As a Lead Infant Teacher, you will inspire both children and staff through innovative teaching practices, fostering a love of learning from the very start of their educational journey.
Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive, developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to infants’ needs, incorporating early intervention strategies and literacy education techniques.
- Lead daily classroom activities that promote social-emotional growth, physical development, and early childhood education standards.
- Manage classroom routines including diapering, feeding, nap times, and sensory play to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with parents and families to communicate children’s progress, behavior management strategies, and individualized care plans.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality classroom management and childcare practices.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of children’s development using standardized testing methods to tailor instruction and support early childhood milestones.
- Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and childcare policies while fostering an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, specifically with infants or toddlers.
- Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories, special education needs, and early intervention programs.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other educational philosophies such as preschool or private school experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to lead a classroom confidently while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Certification in infant/toddler care or early childhood education required; additional training in literacy education or math is a plus.
