Primary Purpose: The Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher provides a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 6 months-1 years old that encourages their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
Qualifications: High school diploma required. Preference given to those who have completed required Early Childhood Development courses including EC1 and EC2 or two courses for credit in early childhood education or its equivalent from an institution of higher education.
Requirements:
- Preference given to applicants with experience teaching early childhood or infant and toddler-aged students in a classroom or childcare center setting.
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate and engaging curriculum based on weekly themes for a diverse group of enrolled children and submit weekly lesson plans.
- Demonstrate effective classroom management techniques and manage child behaviors.
- Care for infants/toddlers in feeding, changing, napping, and basic daily care functions.
- Maintain positive relationships, professionalism, and confidentiality with parents, children, coworkers and community partners.
- Demonstrate knowledge of general child growth and development, learning theories, and developmentally appropriate activities for children required.
- Demonstrate effective listening, oral, and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate initiative and strong leadership skills.
- Responsible for daily cleaning of classroom, toys, and supplies.
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of the position and to safely supervise children's activities.
- May require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- May require the ability to lift or carry program supplies or various classroom materials.
- A physical exam report and TB test must be completed and on file within two weeks of start date. A state required criminal background check will be performed prior to working.Other Requirements:
- Member of The Registry with a level 7 or higher or willing to apply to The Registry within 30 days of hire.
- Shaken Baby Syndrome certificate.
- Infant/Child CPR certified.
Schedule/Details:
- Center hours of operation are 6:30am-6:00pm. Flexible hours within center hours of operation are available for teachers. Currently hiring full-time and part-time positions.
- Center is closed on all major holidays and complies with the Oconomowoc Area School District’s weather closures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
