Lead Infant Teacher - DCFS Qualified

Summary

As an Infant Co-Lead you will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing and engaging classroom for babies from 6 weeks - 15 months. While working with a co-lead and two assistants you will be responsible for the day to day runnings of the classroom such as feedings, diapering and meal times. You will also work alongside your co-lead to create and implement play invitations for the babies to engage with during awake times based on the developmental milestones that they are working towards. This position is essential in helping children develop their natural curiosity and social skills as they prepare for their educational journey.

Responsibilities

  • Foster positive relationships with families
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment for babies
  • Observe and assess children's progress, providing individualized support as needed.
  • Encourage social interaction and cooperation among students through group activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's development and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience of students.
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom that promotes exploration and creativity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience working with infants in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.
  • Experience with classroom management techniques appropriate for young learners.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus but not required.
