Lead Infant & Toddler Teacher

We are hiring in SW Portland for a Lead Provider at one of our infant locations (2mo - 3 yrs). We are looking for dedicated people who love working with infants, toddlers and preschool aged children, to start as soon as possible. Our staff are our greatest asset and are treated with respect and kindness by management and co-workers.

Qualifications for a Lead Childcare Provider: Experience with infants, toddlers & children. applicants need atleast 50 hours of ECE and atleast 1 year of experience in a licensed facility in Oregon. We also provide extensive on-the-job training. You must be drug-free regardless of legality. In order to be employed in any licensed child care position in Oregon, you must be enrolled in the Central Background Registry and submit your fingerprints. It is strongly encouraged to register before applying, as this will help speed up your hiring process.

a. Application must be completed by the person who is being enrolled in the registry

b. You must be 18 years or older

c. You must have your Social Security Number

Within the first 30 days, you need to be certified in Pediatric CPR/First Aid, take a Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse course and have a Food Handlers card. Most of this can be done online: https://www.ccdsmetro.org/training.html.

Most importantly, you need to enjoy working with children, be kind, patient, fun, playful, happy, able to think on your feet, a multi-tasker, dependable, honest, well-spoken and able to work well with the other providers.

Pay & Hours: All staff work four days a week, 38 hours each week. No night or weekend work with one weekday off as well. Competitive pay based on experience. Bonuses for Lead Providers, this is will discussed during the second interview.

Vacation and Holidays: At the end of your successful 30-day trial period, you will be paid for all My Bundle of Joy closed holidays, provided all state-required training is up to date. After 6 months you qualify for 1 week paid vacation and after 1 year, two paid vacation weeks. Vacations must be taken when we are closed (Winter Holiday and Summer Break). There are 7 closed, paid holidays. We pay our staff for any closed inclement weather days. When ratio drops, we do not cut staff hours. You are guaranteed your hours, less any personal time off you choose.

We also provide food for our staff while they are at work! This includes coffee, bagels, cream cheese, cereal, waffles, soup, salad, sandwich items and much more.

Start Date: ASAP

Interview Process: If you are qualified, a first interview will be set up. This is usually a short meeting with our Staff Trainer. She will go over your application and ask applicable questions for the position.

The second interview, a working interview will be set if the first goes well. This is usually during lunch time and is about an hour to an hour and a half long. You will be observed during this time on such things as communication, comfort in interacting with children and ability to learn and carry-out what you have been asked to do.
