Lead Installation Technician

Position Summary

The Service Technician installs, services, and modifies Division 8 and Division 10 material including but not limited to commercial door openings, related hardware, bathroom partitions and accessories. This role performs onsite welding and repairs, delivers high-quality customer service, and represents the company professionally while working in a variety of field environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install and service commercial steel frames, doors (steel/wood), hardware, and access control systems
  • Install bathroom partitions and related division 10 accessories
  • Perform onsite welding and metal modifications on doors and frames
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and retrofit existing openings and components
  • Complete service calls within scheduled timeframes with minimal disruption to customer sites
  • Document work and update service requests accurately
  • Communicate with Service Manager, Project Managers, Sales, and customers regarding job status or issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and tools
  • Follow all safety, PPE, OSHA, and company policies
  • Assist in production shops and special projects when not onsite
  • Participate in training and certification programs to expand product and industry knowledge
  • Manage one install tech to work together as a two-man crew
  • Work alongside other crews on large projects as project needs arise
  • Responsible for self-punching projects and communicating site needs to installation manager

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of carpentry, metal, or service technician experience
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read drawings and follow written, visual, and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license, DOT certification, and insurability required
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends
  • OSHA 10 preferred or obtained after hire, OSHA 30 required for lead
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs overhead and meet physical demands of the role

Salary/Hourly: Full-Time, Non, Exempt, $20.00-$25.00

Hours: Standard Business Hours [unless otherwise communicated] This position requires periodic out-of-town travel for project work.

Employment for this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening. This role is classified as safety-sensitive, and as such, is subject to a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy. Drug screening will be conducted in accordance with federal regulations, including but not limited to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and applicable state and local laws. A positive drug test or failure to comply with the screening process will result in disqualification from employment.
