Job Title: Lead Instrumentation Designer

Location: Houston / Project Office (with periodic site visits to Nigeria as needed)

Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Lead Instrumentation Designer is responsible for all instrumentation design deliverables for an offshore deepwater facility. This includes instrument location plans, cable routing, loop drawings, and coordination with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of instrumentation layout drawings, JB schedules, and cable routing diagrams.
  • Review P&IDs and translate into detailed design documents using SPI (INtools) and AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate with process and piping disciplines to ensure accurate instrumentation placement.
  • Develop and maintain loop diagrams, hookup drawings, and instrument index.
  • Perform 3D model reviews for instrument accessibility and maintainability.
  • Support interface resolution with vendors and fabrication yards.
  • Ensure compliance with project design standards and client specifications.
  • Mentor junior designers and coordinate workload within the instrumentation design team.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 10+ years of instrumentation design.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, creative, organized, and solution advocate.
  • Attention to detail.

Note: This role may require periodic travel to fabrication yards and offshore sites depending on project execution needs.
