Didi Interiors + Architecture is a women-led, full-service interior design and architecture firm known for emotionally resonant, highly personalized residential spaces. We specialize in renovations, additions, and new builds, offering architectural design, interior design, furniture and décor, procurement, and construction oversight.
As our studio continues to grow, we are seeking a highly experienced, client-facing Lead Interior Designer to join our team.
This is not a support role. This is a leadership position within the interior design department.
The ideal candidate can independently manage projects from concept through installation, while maintaining exceptional organization, documentation clarity, and a refined client experience.
This role may begin part time and transition to full time for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Client Leadership
- Lead all interior design meetings
- Build strong client relationships
- Present concepts clearly and confidently
- Guide clients through finish and furnishing decisions
Concept Development
- Develop vision boards and design direction per space
- Create cohesive, full-home concepts
- Ensure flow between architecture, finishes, and furnishings
Construction Selections
- Select interior finishes including flooring, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, tile, appliances, hardware, lighting, paint, millwork, etc
- Document selections clearly using studio templates
- Coordinate closely with architectural drawings and construction documents
- Prepare organized specification packages for builders
Furniture and Décor
- Develop furnishing concepts
- Source from custom and trade vendors
- Prepare proposals and manage revisions
- Oversee final installations and styling
Project Organization and Profitability
- Maintain organized project files and documentation
- Communicate clearly with project managers and construction supervisors
- Track deadlines and maintain project schedules
- Work efficiently while protecting studio profitability
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Principal or department head for design direction and approvals
- Coordinate with architectural and construction teams
- Support and mentor junior designers as needed
Qualifications
- 7+ years of interior design experience
- Strong experience in high-end renovations and new construction
- Proven ability to independently manage full projects
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Deep knowledge of materials, construction processes, and detailing
- Experience sourcing furniture and all types of materials, as well as working with trade vendors
- Experience with Studio Designer or similar procurement software preferred
- Revit and Sketchup familiarity
