Lead Janitor

Acuity Total Solutions, a federal contractor, is seeking a dependable and experienced Lead Janitor to support janitorial operations at the San Diego Federal Building. This role supports daily cleaning operations, assists with team coordination, and helps ensure quality standards are consistently met in a secure federal environment.

This is a working lead position, combining hands-on janitorial duties with team support responsibilities.

Compensation

• $19.80 per hour
• $4.57 per hour Health & Welfare fringe benefit (paid in accordance with federal Service Contract Act requirements)

Position Overview

• Full-time position (Monday through Friday)
• Schedule based on operational needs
• Supports the Project Manager with daily coordination and quality checks

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Team Support

• Assist with coordinating daily cleaning activities across assigned areas
• Help assign tasks and adjust work based on operational needs
• Monitor progress to support completion of required services
• Provide guidance and support to janitorial staff

Inspections & Quality Assurance

• Conduct routine inspections of completed work
• Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective action is taken
• Help maintain overall service quality standards

Communication

• Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager and team
• Relay priorities, updates, and instructions to staff
• Address routine concerns and escalate as needed

Staffing & Operational Support

• Monitor staffing levels and report coverage needs
• Assist with scheduling coordination
• Help maintain inventory of supplies and equipment

Hands-On Cleaning Duties

• Perform general janitorial tasks as needed (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal)
• Cover open shifts when necessary

Work Environment

• Offices and administrative areas
• Restrooms and common areas
• Hallways and high-traffic spaces
• Secure federal facility

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 3 years of janitorial experience required
• At least 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong understanding of janitorial operations and quality standards
• Must be able to pass a federal background check
• Ability to perform physical work (standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs)
• Reliable with strong communication and organizational skills
