Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Line Cook to join our vibrant culinary team at the most iconic restaurant on Vashon Island! In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the kitchen’s line, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and safety.

As a leader in the kitchen, you will coordinate food preparation activities, mentor junior staff, and uphold our commitment to exceptional food service. Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of line cooks and kitchen staff during service hours to ensure smooth operation
• Prepare, cook, and plate dishes according to established recipes, menu specifications, and presentation standards
• Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation guidelines
• Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish execution and ingredient selection
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work station at all times
• Train new team members on cooking techniques, food safety protocols, and restaurant standards
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, communicating needs for restocking or ordering
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items that reflect current trends and customer preferences

Skills

• Extensive culinary experience with a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking techniques
• Leadership skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably with fine dining experience
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation across various cuisines
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
• Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in food presentation and quality
