We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance operations at a project-based Section 8 affordable housing community in Jacksonville, Texas. This leadership role is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of the property, ensuring compliance with HUD and affordable housing standards, and delivering excellent service to residents.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in affordable housing compliance requirements, skilled in property maintenance, and capable of leading by example.
Oversee and perform all aspects of property maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, and general repairs
Ensure units are turned efficiently and meet company and HUD inspection standards
Prepare for and maintain compliance with REAC inspections and other regulatory inspections
Maintain curb appeal, grounds, and common areas
Supervise and coordinate work with vendors and contractors as needed
Manage maintenance inventory, supplies, and ordering within budget guidelines
Complete and track work orders in a timely manner
Participate in on-call emergency maintenance rotation
Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company policies
Minimum 3-5 years of multifamily maintenance experience (affordable housing preferred)
Experience with project-based Section 8 or HUD properties strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (EPA certification preferred)
Ability to diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
Experience preparing for REAC inspections highly desirable
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor
Strong organizational and leadership skills
