Mountain Motorsports is a growing, premium repair and performance shop based in Show Low, Arizona. While we are known for our work in off-road and powersports, we also provide full-service automotive repair and performance work on a wide range of vehicles. We are looking for a Lead Mechanic / Shop Foreman to help take our service department to the next level.

Position Overview

This role is for a high-level technician and leader who can manage shop workflow, perform advanced diagnostics and repairs, and mentor other technicians.

You’ll be expected to work across automotive vehicles, light trucks, and powersports equipment, with an emphasis on quality, efficiency, and accountability.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Work

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues on cars, trucks, SUVs, ATVs, UTVs, and other equipment
  • Perform engine work, driveline repairs, suspension, steering, brake systems, and electrical diagnostics
  • Handle advanced troubleshooting using scan tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards

Shop Leadership

  • Lead, train, and mentor technicians and apprentices
  • Review and inspect completed work to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Set the standard for productivity, organization, and workmanship
  • Assist in hiring and developing team members as the shop grows

Operations

  • Manage daily workflow, scheduling, and repair priorities
  • Assist with estimates, parts ordering, and job tracking
  • Work closely with ownership to improve processes and grow the business
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop

Customer Interaction

  • Communicate clearly with customers when needed regarding diagnostics and repairs
  • Help build trust through transparency and professionalism

QualificationsRequired

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive repair (required); powersports experience is a plus
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical)
  • Ability to work on a wide variety of vehicles, both foreign and domestic
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a shop environment
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred

  • ASE certifications or equivalent industry certifications
  • Experience with performance builds, engine work, or custom projects
  • Familiarity with shop management systems and diagnostic software
  • Background in both automotive and powersports repair
