Job Summary and Qualifications

Role: Summary: The Lead Medical Laboratory Technician assists in providing oversight of daily Laboratory operations; provides technical guidance to all laboratory positions and is expected to function as a bench MLT performing both routine and complex laboratory analysis without direct supervision. Assists in monitoring quality control data and maintaining department procedure manuals; and as needed performs select administrative functions in the absence of the supervisor or manager.

• Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
• Required Educations: Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or other life sciences from an accredited college.
• Preferred Education: None
• Required Certification: ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory If certified in 2004 or after, recertification required every 3 years. If hired before 2004, ASCP, HEW, AMT, or NCA certification accepted.
• Preferred Certification: Certification by ASCP as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• Required Experience: None
• Preferred Experience: Two years post graduate Laboratory experience.
