Overview
We are seeking skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic s to join our locally owned team. The ideal candidate MUST have a strong background in sheet metal fabrication and installation, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This role is crucial in ensuring that all sheet metal components meet quality standards and are built & installed according to specifications. The Sheet Metal Mechanic will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, supervising projects, ordering material, take off's and utilizing construction management software to maintain project efficiency.
Duties
- Interpret and read blueprints/shop drawings to determine project specifications and requirements.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal products according to industry standards, plans and specs.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure all components meet required specifications.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore and Sheets for project tracking and documentation.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of team members during installation projects.
- Use tools such as Ohmmeters for electrical testing related to sheet metal applications.
- Collaborate with other trades on job sites to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic and leadership skills
- Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding of construction codes and RFI procedures
- Familiarity with Outlook & construction management software like ProCore
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control & fit and finish throughout
- Ability to supervise team members effectively while promoting a collaborative work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site efficiently.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and perform manual labor tasks daily
High quality of life position, no nights, weekends or 60 work weeks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.00 - $36.00 per hour
