Job Overview
We are seeking a Lead Pharmacy Technician/Billing Specialist to work onsite at our New Tampa location. This is a unique role combining the duties of a pharmacy technician (primarily third party billing and prior authorizations) with relationship building within a medical facility.

This position plays an important role in strengthening pharmacy and provider relationships and improving health outcomes for patients within the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical providers with initiation and completion of prior authorizations
• Assist with in-pharmacy operations, including prescription processing and general workflow support
• Communicate professionally with patients, prescribers, and healthcare offices
• Process and troubleshoot third-party prescription claims
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including Florida Board of Pharmacy requirements

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician required, particularly in a retail or community pharmacy setting
• Previous experience with Cover My Meds or submission of prior authorizations
• Strong in-person and phone communication skills and a patient-first mindset
• Previous experience in healthcare facilities or building relationships with healthcare workers
• Active Florida Pharmacy Technician registration required; certification preferred but not mandatory
• Commitment to professionalism, reliability, and ongoing development

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week Monday - Friday 9am to 6pm
