The Lead Plumber is responsible for performing residential and/or commercial plumbing, sewer, and drain cleaning services while maintaining a high level of professionalism, workmanship, and customer service. This position is expected to follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform plumbing service, repair, installation, and diagnostic work on residential and commercial plumbing systems
- Perform sewer and drain cleaning services including cabling, hydro jetting, camera inspections, and locating services
- Diagnose plumbing issues and provide accurate recommendations for repair or replacement
- Install, repair, and maintain water lines, drain lines, fixtures, water heaters, sump pumps, and related plumbing systems
- Operate plumbing and drain cleaning equipment safely and properly
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory in clean and proper working condition
- Complete work orders, invoices, estimates, and required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate professionally with customers, office staff, inspectors, vendors, and team members
- Follow all local plumbing codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized job site before, during, and after work completion
- Participate in on-call rotation, emergency service calls, and after-hours work as required
- Assist with training and mentoring apprentices and junior technicians when applicable
- Attend company meetings, training sessions, and continuing education as required
- Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, kneeling, climbing, bending, digging, and working in crawl spaces, attics, rooftops, trenches, and confined spaces
- Safely lift and move equipment and materials weighing 50 pounds or more
- Work in varying weather and environmental conditions
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Requirements & Expectations
- Valid Master Plumber license as required by state/local jurisdiction
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to use smartphones, tablets, dispatch software, and related technology
- Ability to pass background check and/or drug screening
