Purpose:

To plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child enrolled in your class, that follows the expectations set with the Hope Academy approach to teaching and learning.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet and follow all the requirements for Arkansas Minimum Licensing Requirements for Child Care Centers, as well as, Arkansas Better Beginnings.
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
  • Must be okay with getting dirty and playing interactively with the children.
  • Must do 25 hours a year of continual training with PDR.
  • Must be able to teach with a Christian Curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
  • Must know all your children’s ages and what their ratio is.
  • Observes all rules and regulations at Hope Academy concerning the health, safety and care of children.
  • Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule set by curriculum and programming. While, understanding the interests of children and creating fun experience and supplemental curriculum.
  • Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
  • Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
  • Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Employee Handbook
  • Assists in other capacities that Director determines is necessary.

Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday: 7:45a to 4:15p.

Full time staff members receive a 15-minute paid break, 30 mins off the clock break

Experience:

  • Early Childhood Education: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Preschool: 1 year (Preferred)
