Lead Pre-K Teacher

Job Summary

New Day Children's Center is seeking a teacher for our Four Year Old Pre-K Classroom for the 2025-2026 school year. The right candidate should be familiar with the Creative Curriculum and be able to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, play based program. Prefer a candidate who has experience working in a program with three and four year old children. The classroom hours for this position are 7:30 am to 1:30, with office hours 1:30-3:30. The Pre-K program runs according to the Watertown City School District calendar. Additional hours are used to plan, and prepare for developmentally appropriate programming and to document classroom observations.

This is for the school year September -June with the opportunity to work the summer months if wanted.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, following the Creative Curriculum, using Teaching Strategies Gold system to document children's progress in developmental domains, maintain a developmentally appropriate, play based, hands on classroom, work well in a team environment, and be able to effectively communicate with parents. The right candidate must be passionate about providing a rich learning environment that will be engaging for children.

Qualifications and Skills

The right candidate would have a BA/Masters in Early Childhood Education.

Prefer previous experience working in a program with three and four year old children.

Must be familiar with the Creative Curriculum.
