Lead Pre-K teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Pre-K Teacher to oversee early childhood education in a nurturing and engaging classroom environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for child development, and expertise in engaging little learners. This role involves guiding classroom activities, implementing educational programs, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere for young children. The Lead Pre-K Teacher will collaborate with staff and families to support each child's growth and ensure compliance with educational standards.

Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes early childhood development, literacy, math, and social skills.
• Plan and execute engaging lesson plans aligned with educational standards such as Montessori or other preschool methodologies.
• Manage classroom activities, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children aged 3-5 years.
• Utilize behavior management techniques to support positive behavior and social-emotional learning.
• Conduct assessments of children's progress through observations and standardized testing when appropriate.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress and address individual needs.
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or classroom aides, providing guidance on instructional strategies and classroom management.
• Ensure compliance with childcare regulations, health and safety policies, and licensing requirements.
• Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention practices to support children with diverse learning needs.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood education, including literacy education, physical education, and childcare best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings, including classroom management and lesson planning.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies.
• Experience with literacy education, math instruction, and Montessori methods preferred.
• Background in special education or experience working with children requiring additional support is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, staff, and community partners.
• Ability to lead a classroom confidently while maintaining a nurturing environment focused on child welfare.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
