Preschool Teacher (Full-Time)

Location: Ryves Youth Center, Terre Haute, IN
Status: Full-Time | FLSA: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Program Director

Position Summary:
The Preschool Teacher leads the daily operations of a full-day, year-round preschool program for 10–25 children. This role is responsible for planning and delivering curriculum, managing part-time staff and volunteers, and ensuring a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement curriculum aligned with Indiana Early Learning Standards
• Maintain student records, attendance, and behavioral logs
• Coordinate and supervise volunteers, interns, and part-time staff
• Communicate regularly with parents and community partners
• Support families experiencing homelessness in accessing services
• Oversee classroom setup, food preparation, and daily routines

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or working toward CDA required
• Experience with preschool-aged children or homeless families preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Must pass background screening and complete child safety training
• Valid Indiana driver’s license required

Working Conditions:

• Active classroom setting with physical demands (lifting up to 30 lbs., standing, bending, etc.)
• Occasional evening or weekend hours and potential travel for training
• Must be able to manage documentation and communicate effectively in various formats

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
