Lead Python Developer - Dubai based Proprietary Trading Firm

Venture Search is proud to partner with a Global Proprietary trading firm currently building out their DeFi trading desk which combines the speed and innovation of a startup with the stability and resources of an established, profitable trading firm. They are now expanding the technical foundation of this group and are looking for a Lead Python Developer to architect, build, and scale their DeFi infrastructure from the ground up.

This is a unique chance to join as one of the earliest technical hires on a rapidly growing initiative. You’ll take ownership of core components of a live trading system and collaborate closely with the founding team. As the platform scales, there is flexibility to incorporate Rust for performance-critical workloads. The ideal candidate is pragmatic, adaptable, and eager to use the best tools for the job.

This role is based in Dubai, with full relocation support provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance and scale a Python-driven DeFi trading infrastructure
• Develop high-performance integrations with smart contracts and DeFi protocols
• Build real-time blockchain data pipelines for event handling and market intelligence
• Design new microservices to extend automation and trading capabilities
• Take end-to-end ownership of critical system components, from architecture through deployment
• Optimize performance, with opportunities to introduce Rust for latency-sensitive paths
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Codex, Cursor) to accelerate delivery
• Play an active role in technical strategy and hands-on engineering leadership

Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in Python with a deep understanding of async/await, scalable system design, and performance optimization
• DeFi & Blockchain - Practical knowledge of AMMs, MEV, liquidations, and smart contract interactions
• Experience building distributed systems in real-time, production-grade microservices
• Smart Contracts - Ability to read Solidity and understand on-chain logic
• Comfortable using modern AI tools to enhance development and productivity
• Willing to relocate and work full-time on-site in Dubai
