Lead Quality Inspector - CMM Calypso

Responsibilities

• Program CMM using Calypso
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on machined components
• Use inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, and optical comparators
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings with tight tolerances and GD&T
• Document inspection results clearly and accurately
• Work closely with machinists and programmers to prevent quality issues and support a right-first-time mindset
• Maintain control of inspection tools and gage calibration status
• Support generation of FAIRs and inspection reports as needed

Requirements

• Programming, operating and understanding of CMMs (ZEISS Calypso or similar)
• 5+ years of experience in precision inspection for a CNC or machine shop environment
• Strong grasp of dimensional inspection techniques and GD&T
• Proficient with hand tools and comparators
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems
• Exposure to aerospace or defense machining environments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour
