Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development for school-age children.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive discipline techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to first aid protocols, CPR procedures, AED operation, and health guidelines at all times.
- Foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and needs, including special education accommodations when necessary.
- Coordinate and supervise recreational activities, sports coaching sessions, arts and theater projects, and other youth programs to encourage creativity and teamwork.
- Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, behavior, and any concerns that arise.
- Lead by example in promoting Christian counseling principles or values aligned with the organization’s mission when appropriate.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, camp settings, or youth programs is essential.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills with a proven ability to create structured yet flexible learning environments.
- Experience in teaching young children or early childhood education is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques is required.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols are mandatory.
- Background in special education or experience tutoring children with diverse needs will be considered an asset.
- Previous roles involving babysitting, sports coaching, theater arts instruction, or Christian counseling contribute valuable skills for this position.
