Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Lead School-Age/Recreational Educator to join our team from 9 am to 6:30 pm. In this vital role, you will lead engaging activities and oversee the daily operations of our school-age and recreational programs, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for children. Your leadership will inspire creativity, foster social-emotional growth, and promote positive behavior among children of various ages. Duties
- Plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate recreational activities, educational games, arts and crafts, sports coaching, and theatrical performances that promote childhood development and social skills.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques.
- Lead small groups or individual tutoring sessions to support children’s academic progress and early childhood education goals.
- Coordinate with team members to create inclusive programming tailored for children with special education needs or behavioral challenges.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid protocols, conducting safety checks, and responding promptly to emergencies or incidents.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and program updates in a professional manner.
- Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages teamwork, respect, and Christian counseling principles when appropriate.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp counseling, babysitting, or educational programs.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with knowledge of childhood development principles.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus.
- Background in teaching, early childhood education, or recreational leadership preferred.
- Ability to lead sports coaching sessions or theatrical activities is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to handle diverse needs of children including those requiring special education accommodations.
