Role Summary:The Lead Septic Service & Operations Specialist is a multi-faceted role combining essential field operations with critical team development and business growth initiatives. This position is responsible for the safe and compliant execution of pumping and excavation support services while also serving as a mentor for field staff and an ambassador for the company's commitment to quality and expansion.Key Responsibilities:
- Septic Pump Truck Operations
- Safely operate and maintain a commercial septic pump truck, adhering to all DOT, local, and federal regulations for non-hazardous liquid waste transport and disposal.
- Perform septic tank pump-outs, grease trap services, and routine system inspections for residential and commercial clients.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment maintenance checks to ensure all gear, including hoses and pumps, is in excellent working order.
- Excavation and Field Support
- Provide support for septic system installation, repair, and troubleshooting, which includes operating heavy earth-moving equipment (e.g., mini-excavator, skid-steer) for digging and backfilling as required for system access, riser installation, and drain field work.
- Assist with the transport and deployment of field equipment to various job sites.
- Apply knowledge of design specs and plans for septic system installation and repair (e.g., as seen in the "Campo De Indiana LLC Design Hamilton Co." project) to ensure accurate and compliant work.
- Team Training and Mentorship
- Serve as a mentor and on-the-job trainer for new and junior drivers and field technicians, reinforcing best practices in safety, customer service, and technical execution.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for pumping, safety compliance, and environmental regulations.
- Assist management in assessing and improving the technical skills and professional conduct of the field team.
- Company Growth and Customer Service
- Act as a professional and knowledgeable company representative, providing excellent customer service by answering client questions, diagnosing basic system issues, and advising on maintenance or necessary follow-up work.
- Identify and report opportunities for additional services, system upgrades, or new business leads to contribute to company revenue and growth.
- Ensure all service documentation is completed accurately and promptly, maintaining a high standard of accountability that minimizes liability and supports the company's strong reputation.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with the ability to obtain a Tanker Endorsement.
- Proven experience in operating septic pump trucks and performing septic system maintenance.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as an excavator and skid-steer.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations (OSHA / DOT).
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Pay: $51,292.67 - $61,771.82 per year
