Duties

• Supervise and support front of house staff to ensure smooth service operations and uphold high standards of hospitality
• Assist guests with menu selections, special requests, and dietary needs to enhance their dining experience
• Manage table assignments and coordinate timing of courses to optimize guest satisfaction
• Upsell menu items and beverages using effective sales techniques to increase revenue
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed according to food industry regulations
• Oversee POS transactions using systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for accurate billing and cash handling
• Train new staff on service protocols, POS operation, and customer service expectations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, including bussing tables and supporting kitchen staff when needed

Experience

• Proven restaurant experience with a focus on fine dining or upscale food service environments
• Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus
• Demonstrated leadership skills in a food industry setting, with the ability to motivate and guide team members
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
• Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to manage time effectively in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Previous experience in host/hostess roles or nightclub settings is advantageous but not required
• Basic math skills for cashiering, cash handling, and order calculations
