At Kumori Sushi, our Head Server positions take orders, serve food and beverages to customers and train new FOH staff. They also greet customers, present menus, and explain daily specials. They're responsible for ensuring that customers have a satisfying dining experience. Provide fast, efficient, and courteous service. Emphasize personal, attentive treatment at a more leisurely pace.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service
• Familiarize customers with the menu and make appropriate suggestions when requested
• Collects payments by accepting cash, credit/debit cards, or gift cards from customers
• Check IDs to ensure minimum age requirement is met for alcoholic consumption
• Must be over 18 to serve alcoholic beverages
• Notify kitchen personnel of food orders, shortages, or special orders
• Serves appetizers, salads, cold dishes and beverages
• Recognize customer intoxication in accordance with Kumori policy
• Assisting with the tidying of tables, clearing leftovers and keeping the dining/work areas neat and pleasant

Qualifications:

• Must have great customer service skills and demonstrate oral or written communication skills
• Computer Skills
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Understand government alcoholic beverage service regulations
• Understand government health, hotel or food service regulations
• Must have knowledge of food handling rules
• Must have City of San Antonio, Texas Food Handlers Card
• Must have Texas Food Handler Certificate
• Must have TABC certificate or be willing to obtain
• Must be open to work weekends Friday, Saturday and Sunday
• Speak in English
• Have two valid forms of ID to work in the United States
• Have reliable transportation to get to work on time
• Have a good appearance as well as presenting yourself with good hygiene
• Must have 6 months to 1 year experience of serving in a restaurant
• This position will be training into Team Lead. Once training is complete hourly wage will change to $12.00 an hour and responsibilities will slightly increase.
