Responsibilities
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding guest service, ensuring every guest feels valued and attended to
- Support the restaurant team by training new staff and mentoring current team members to uphold service excellence
- Manage daily operations including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS system management (Aloha POS, Micros POS)
- Oversee food safety and sanitation standards to ensure compliance with health regulations and company policies
- Assist with food preparation, food handling, and bussing duties during busy periods to maintain efficient service flow
- Utilize reservation systems like OpenTable to manage bookings and optimize seating arrangements for maximum guest satisfaction
- Drive sales through upselling techniques and suggestive selling to enhance guest experience and increase revenue
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on fine dining or upscale hospitality
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; experience with cashiering and basic math required
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest relations professionally and warmly
- Leadership qualities with prior host/hostess or serving experience that demonstrates initiative and responsibility
- Familiarity with food industry standards including food safety, sanitation, food preparation, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while multitasking seamlessly during peak hours
- Knowledge of OpenTable reservation management software; experience with upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
