We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Sign Fabricator with experience in channel letter fabrication, welding, and illuminated sign systems to join our production team.

Position Overview

The Lead Sign Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication and assembly of complex signage systems, including channel letters, illuminated cabinets, raceways, and custom architectural signage. This role requires strong hands-on fabrication skills and the ability to work with metal, acrylic, LED lighting systems, and modern sign fabrication equipment.

This position will also assist in mentoring junior fabricators and maintaining production quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Channel Letter & Sign Fabrication

• Fabricate channel letters using channel letter bending equipment
• Assemble front-lit, reverse-lit, and halo-lit channel letters
• Trim and install acrylic faces and backs
• Install LED modules and wiring systems

Metal Fabrication & Welding

• Perform MIG and/or TIG welding for sign frames, cabinets, and raceways
• Fabricate aluminum structures for illuminated signs
• Build raceways and support structures

Illuminated Sign Assembly

• Build and assemble illuminated cabinet signs
• Install Lexan faces and acrylic graphics
• Install and wire LED illumination systems
• Ensure proper light distribution and electrical layout

Equipment Operation

• Operate fabrication equipment including:
• Channel letter bender
• Metal cutting tools
• Welders
• Vinyl plotters and laminators
• Assist with layout and preparation of materials for fabrication

Production Quality

• Read and interpret shop drawings and production files
• Ensure all signs meet company quality standards
• Collaborate with design and installation teams
• Assist in preparing finished signage for installation

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years experience in sign fabrication
• Experience fabricating channel letters
• Experience operating channel letter bending machines
• Experience with MIG or TIG welding
• Experience building illuminated cabinet signs
• Strong knowledge of LED lighting systems for signage
• Experience working with materials including:
• Aluminum
• Acrylic
• Lexan
• PVC and composite panels
• Ability to read shop drawings and fabrication plans
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship

Preferred Experience

• Experience with raceway fabrication
• Experience with CNC routers
• Electrical wiring experience for sign lighting
• Knowledge of UL sign standards
• Experience leading or training junior fabricators
