Lead Pavement Marking Technician
Position Summary
G-FORCE® Parking Lot Striping of Denver is seeking an experienced Lead Pavement Marking Technician to lead field operations on commercial pavement marking projects throughout Colorado's Front Range.
This position is responsible for executing and overseeing all aspects of pavement marking work including layout, striping, ADA upgrades, stenciling, crosswalks, curb markings, wheel stop installation, bollard installation, and signage installation.
The Lead Pavement Marking Technician serves as the field leader on job sites, directing crew activities, maintaining quality standards, ensuring safety compliance, and keeping projects on schedule. This position also maintains responsibility for company striping equipment, trailers, tools, and shop organization.
This is a working leadership role. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time performing field work alongside the crew while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to G-FORCE® quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pavement Marking Operations
- Perform and oversee parking lot layout and pavement marking installation.
- Execute restriping, new layouts, ADA-compliant parking stalls, access aisles, directional arrows, crosswalks, curb markings, stop bars, and specialty markings.
- Verify all work meets customer specifications and ADA requirements.
- Conduct final quality inspections before leaving each job site.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and according to scope.
Crew Leadership
- Direct daily job site activities and assign crew responsibilities.
- Train and mentor crew members on proper pavement marking techniques and equipment operation.
- Maintain production standards while ensuring safe work practices.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and material needs to management.
- Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and craftsmanship.
Equipment & Shop Management
- Maintain striping machines, trailers, pressure washers, blowers, and related equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues in the field to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all equipment, tools, and materials are properly loaded, secured, and transport-ready.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the shop, trailers, and equipment storage areas.
- Document maintenance and repair activities.
- Recommend equipment upgrades and workflow improvements to increase efficiency and safety.
Planning & Safety
- Participate in Monday Shop Day planning and staffing discussions.
- Ensure all PPE and safety requirements are followed at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance and job site presence.
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years of commercial pavement marking experience.
- Experience operating airless striping equipment.
- Experience performing parking lot layouts and ADA-compliant markings.
- Ability to read site plans, sketches, and customer specifications.
- Strong understanding of pavement marking best practices and quality standards.
- Ability to lead and direct a small field crew.
- Must be eligible to access and work on federal facilities, military installations, government properties, and other secure locations.
- Must be able to successfully pass background screenings, security checks, and site-specific access requirements when required by customers or government agencies.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience safely operating 1-ton pickup trucks and towing loaded equipment trailers up to 20 feet in length.
- Ability to back, maneuver, and position trailers in commercial parking lots and active construction environments.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred
- Experience installing bollards, wheel stops, and parking lot signage.
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment repair experience.
- Experience towing trailers.
- DOT Medical Card or CDL.
