Key Accountabilities
- Lead all mine survey activities, ensuring survey networks, RTK bases, UAV platforms, and equipment are operational and maintained within approved budgets.
- Deliver accurate and timely pit mark ups to support drilling, charging, blasting, excavation, and dump development in accordance with SOW technical specifications.
- Conduct as built surveys to validate contractor progress, volume movements, bench compliance, and pit advancement.
- Produce and update high accuracy topographic surfaces (DTMs) for production reporting, reconciliation, forecasting, and planning.
- Manage QA/QC of all survey data, ensuring reliability, repeatability, proper calibration, and audit ready datasets.
- Collaborate with Mine Engineering and Geology teams to support ore control boundaries, grade control, dig lines, and stockpile measurements.
- Lead UAV (drone) survey programs, including photogrammetric mapping for pit compliance, dump geometry, and surface change analysis.
- Provide technical leadership, task assignment, and competency development for surveyors and technicians.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures, especially when operating near pit edges, equipment zones, or blast areas.
- Support SOW driven reporting cycles and contractor performance evaluations with accurate spatial data.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or related field; professional surveying accreditation preferred.
- Minimum Experience: 10+ years' experience in open pit mine surveying, including supervisory roles, UAV operations, and advanced survey systems.
