Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating diverse teaching strategies such as Montessori methods or other early childhood education frameworks.
- Manage classroom activities to create a safe, organized, and stimulating environment conducive to learning and social growth.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to foster positive behavior, address challenges proactively, and promote respectful interactions among children.
- Collaborate with families to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for children with developmental disabilities or special needs, ensuring tailored support and progress tracking.
- Incorporate learning technology tools to enhance instruction and engage students in interactive educational experiences.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor developmental milestones, literacy progress, math skills, and overall academic achievement.
- Apply behavioral health strategies and behavioral therapy techniques to support children with autism or other behavioral challenges, promoting emotional regulation and social skills development.
- Coordinate with specialists such as speech therapists or occupational therapists to provide comprehensive support for children requiring additional interventions.
- Lead classroom activities that promote physical education, early intervention strategies, and child welfare practices to foster holistic development.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, behavior management plans, IEP goals, and communication with parents or guardians.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing classrooms in early childhood education settings or preschools with a strong understanding of childhood development principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in classroom management, behavior management techniques, and implementing effective lesson planning strategies.
- Knowledge of special education practices including IEP development, working with children with autism or disabilities, and applying behavioral health interventions.
- Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds including toddlers, preschoolers, or students with developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools used in early childhood education environments.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, therapists, and other stakeholders.
- Background in speech therapy techniques or literacy education is highly desirable.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual learners while maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Certification in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; ongoing professional development in special education or behavioral health is a plus.
