Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher with ECD 101 or a degree in Education to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes early childhood development, literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of high-quality, inclusive education tailored to meet each child's unique needs, especially those with developmental disabilities or requiring specialized support. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual student needs.
- Lead classroom activities that promote literacy, math, speech therapy, behavioral health, and social skills development.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavioral management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and early intervention professionals to support student progress.
- Conduct assessments including standardized testing and IEP (Individualized Education Program) reviews to monitor student growth and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Mentor and supervise assistant teachers and classroom aides to ensure consistent delivery of quality education.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, behavior reports, lesson plans, and communication logs with families.
- Foster an inclusive environment that supports children with autism, disabilities, or other special needs through personalized strategies and accommodations.
Skills
- Proven experience in classroom management within early childhood or special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, curriculum development, literacy education, and math instruction.
- Expertise in working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder and developmental delays.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, behavioral therapy techniques, speech therapy strategies, and behavioral health practices.
- Excellent communication skills for mentoring staff, collaborating with families, and engaging children effectively.
- Ability to plan lessons that incorporate Montessori or preschool methodologies as appropriate.
- Experience in working with standardized testing protocols and tutoring students for academic success.
