Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development, literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods to foster holistic growth.
- Lead classroom activities that promote social-emotional learning, behavior management, and positive child welfare practices.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure effective classroom management and maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment for children of various ages.
- Support early intervention strategies and special education needs to ensure inclusive learning experiences for all children and an enjoyable work environment.
- Manage daily operations of the classroom or program, including supervising staff, coordinating schedules, and ensuring compliance with licensing standards when nessesary.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, behavior management strategies, and developmental milestones.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, standardized testing preparation, tutoring techniques, and early childhood education best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting; prior classroom experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Experience with curriculum development across multiple domains such as literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and some Montessori methods may be helpful.
- Background in early education, management and early intervention communication programs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Familiarity with childcare regulations, daycare standards, private school environments, and preschool experience.
- Ability to lead a team with enthusiasm while maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Certification in early childhood education or related fields preferred; Director qualified through the state of Maryland is also encouraged. Ongoing professional development is required.

Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour
