A Day in the Life of a Lead Childcare Teacher: As a Lead Childcare Teacher, you will provide a stable and safe environment for toddlers and infants. You’ll be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising curriculum activities while ensuring compliance with our policies and procedures. You’ll also oversee other childcare staff, take initiative, exercise independent judgment, and communicate effectively with parents. Maintaining a pleasant, respectful, and courteous demeanor with residents, children, families, visitors, and fellow employees is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the classroom
  • Coordinate activities for children in your care
  • Accurately report and record child and parent information
  • Attend childcare meetings
  • Collaborate as a team player to support miscellaneous duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary certificate as a Child Development Assistant with one year of experience, or an A.A. or B.A. degree in child development, or a Pre-kindergarten license from the Department of Education
  • Preferably two years of professional experience with infants
  • Strong understanding and enjoyment of working with children
  • Proven supervisory and leadership abilities
  • Ability to make decisions and initiate new programs
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position
  • Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
