Geminus Corporation partners with community-based health care providers, social service organizations and early childhood education programs to help increase access to high-quality social health care for children and families across Northern Indiana. Geminus Corporation is a member of the Regional Care Group.

Position Purpose:

To plan, organize, coordinate and implement a comprehensive education program at the Site level that is developmentally appropriate and meets the individual needs of the children. This is a 10+ Month Full Time position.

Adhere to HEAD START performance standards, GEMINUS policies and procedures and STATE MANDATES regarding the reporting of child abuse and neglect.

Position Scope:

The Lead Teacher is responsible for the care and education of a group of children as a part of a teaching team. This Lead Teacher is responsible to plan and implement the curriculum in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards, Indiana Academic Foundations, Head Start Outcomes Framework, as well as, utilizing the Developmentally Appropriate Effective Practices as defined by the National Association of Young Children (NAEYC) and preparedness of school readiness. This position requires active participation with the children, families, other members of the teaching team, as well as, various Head Start staff, to assess and address the needs of individual children. This position will work closely with the Site Director both in Head Start and Early Head Start for child outcomes. The Lead Teacher is expected to present a positive and professional image of Geminus and the Head Start Division, and actively and effectively participate on committees and work teams as requested.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide excellent customer service/communication skills.
  • Implementation of developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
  • Provide information for child records and progress reports.
  • Participate in trainings as required.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood/Development is required.

Three years of classroom experience with preschoolers in a licensed child care center-based program, or Head Start program, or public schools preferred. Spanish speaking preferred

Full-Time Days (Monday-Friday, 7:30a-3:30p)

Pay Range: $27.06-$35.18 per hour
